Our house is a typical mid-centry countryside house. It’s cosy and cute with lots of exposed wood. We often hear our guests say “just like grandma’s house” when coming here.

Location
The LIGHTS house is located in the village Oobuchi on the Yabe River. It’s near the border between Fukuoka and Kumamoto prefectures, at the foot of the Hyugakami Gorge. This is a little known place with a history of over 1,200 years, before the Kamakura period.
Surrounded by water and fields, this place allows you to enjoy the beauty of nature throughout the year. The surroundings are well suited for cycling rides or leisurely strolls.
There are multiple river spots to play in within a 20-minute walk or car ride. If you want to relax, there is a natural hot spring facility 15 minutes away by car, and if you go further, there are multiple hot spring resorts within a 30-minute drive to the north, south, east and west.
